Shakespeare Composite Structures
fiberglass reinforced
composite Tuff-Poles® won't rust, rot, or corrode, and they will easily
outlast
wood, aluminum, steel, and concrete under the same climatic
conditions.
The result: a much lower owning cost over the lifetime of the poles.

Unsurpassed
Performance
High winds and large loads are no
problem. All Tuff-Poles are engineered to withstand specified sustained winds up to
120 mph with
minimum deflection.
Excellent
low-temperature tolerance
Low
temperature performance is exceptional. Composite Tuff-Poles
actually get stronger in extreme cold; minus 50° C won't bother
them. That's minus 122° F.
Non-Corroding
Our non-corroding fiberglass won't deteriorate
in salt air climates, acid rain or acid soil. It will easily
withstand harsh, chemical-laden environments, such as diesel fumes
around airports and freight terminals.
Non-Conductive
Fiberglass is an insulator to
electricity. That means composite Tuff-Poles can substantially
reduce the hazards of electric shock, and associated liability.
Light
in Weight
Light weight Tuff-Poles save time, manpower,
equipment, and money during the installation process. Many new
construction projects and renovations can be erected entirely without
need for expensive cranes, and by a crew of only two or three people.

|
Efficient,
inexpensive handling
Most
Shakespeare composite light poles, even large ones, are human liftable,
and can easily be carried by
one or two installation crew members:
- Fast,
simple installation, usually without heavy lifting equipment.
- Easy,
non-destructive transport to remote installation sites, or to sites
where traverse by heavy trucks is unwelcome or impractical.
- Minimal
traffic interruption and costly diversion.
|
| Color durable
Our Tuff-Pole process embeds pigments into
the resin
during manufacture, and coats the poles with pigmented, proprietary,
polyurethane containing UV
inhibitors to help prevent color fading over time - for good looks
that
last. Our innovative SportsLighting and Utility poles' Veil
finish includes an extra wrap of UV-inhibitor-laden resin before
coatings are applied.
Environmentally
friendly
Composite
Tuff-Poles do not have to be stored or handled as hazardous materials -
unlike treated wooden poles under some state laws (and soon under
federal Environmental Protection
Agency enforcement standards).
|
 |
Direct burial style
Tuff-Poles mount directly into the
ground, greatly reducing site preparation, traffic diversion, and
resultant costs.
